Criticisms against the NVA

Better late than never: During the month of February, Dutch politicians have sharply criticized the NVA (Flemish nationalist party) and its president Bart De Wever. Here are four examples.

Eva Brems (Groen): "The president of the VER Bart De Wever has always stated his desire to see independent Flanders. This is clearly radical. For much of the public, when not running behind the NVA, one is considered a bad Fleming. Since June 13, our country is in the hands of the NVA, it is inevitable. And they know very well where they want to go with our country. They make strange antics (Like the time after saying they did not speak, they made the law a major demand for funding), but basically, they keep the same direction. Their strategy is based on the fact that we live a unique moment. It's a chance that probably does not represent, is when they have never been stronger and the other Flemish parties also low. The aim of NVA is independent Flanders. But because she knows that the majority of the Flemings do not want it, she perfected the art of themselves as wanting to reform. In fact, they want to degradation. To be precise: does the VER no solution. What they want is to make a virus in the system, a worm in the apple. Bart De Wever absolutely does not want the peace community. He works at the end of Belgium without the people against the wishes and interests of Flanders, because the ultimate consequence is that we will lose Brussels as a window of the world ".

President Groen Wouter Van Besien: "The NVA and CD & V think that Brussels must be collectively managed by the Flemish and Francophones. It is as if communities were to deal with Brussels as stepmothers. It is a vision worthy of the 19th century.

MP Federal Mathias De Clercq (VLD): "The NVA has clearly demonstrated it would not or could lead to a solution. perfidious strategy of rotting lasted long enough. It must be unmasked. What's funny, it ' Bart De Wever is that it's OK with his behavior, because there's always someone else who comes out the chestnuts from the fire, as President of CD & V Wouter Beke. But that De Wever runs everything. It distributes the single thought, put the virus in the system. "

Senator Rik Torfs (CD & V): "This is not because Bart De Wever is currently the king of Flanders that the attitude refusing compromise is best. Politicians are elected to find solutions and establish a government. Not only train and not renew the population to the polls, as Bart De Wever seems to suggest.

pro-Belgian citizens

1 Bricman journalist Charles wrote, February 14, on his blog http : / / blog.charlesbricman.be : "You have seen something of a winter day 53. I'll see wither and abandon you, resigned, or syndrome of the landslide that took some old when they lost the will to live. We say that is the order of things. But I have a doubt. Is that really you, Belgium, I go look through your fingers stained a few pointers plumbers? Or is it just the costume they decked thee to make you look like your supposed peers? France, which comes from the depths of centuries and that call if we may believe certain solemn cap. Haughty England imposing its rule the world iron and lead. Germany hysterical. Catholic Spain. Imperial Austria. And all the others. You were their toy. You were their issue. You go from one to another and returned to the previous, according to the arms and alliances, until that day when you came the idea can be fatal to enter your ride in the big leagues for play a partition that was not yours and sing your invincible unity, quickly rejected by your irreducible diversity. He had to define what was not definable. Describe the unspeakable. Company absurd and hopeless, hopelessly doomed to failure. The Belgians are not a nation and will never make one. Talleyrand was right. They are finding their unity through their differences. This is not nothing. And that is precisely what makes your prize, human Belgium. That's why I love you. Rest a little longer with us. But remains above what you are. I'm Belgian. Particular. And I still persists and signs.

2 The Flemish artist Luc Tuymans took the opening in February of his retrospective at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels to discuss the political situation: "I am completely opposed nationalism. I do not understand the ignorance and stupidity of those who follow Bart De Wever. A few years ago, the CVP which by electoral opportunism has paved the Vlaams Blok. This time, the CD & V by the same electoral opportunism Bart De Wever has fostered. This nationalist vote has to do with some Flemish history, a minority complex, the trauma of World War II. But alas, those who govern us have become a-cultural. The cultural world at large reacts like me but has become a minority. Not only in Belgium. In the Netherlands, there is now talk of hatred of art, rejecting art as elitist and leftist ".

Shares of students against the split of Belgium

Bravo to 10,000 students (based on newspaper "The Last Time") who participated yesterday in a symbolic actions organized in Brussels, Louvain-la-Neuve, Liège, Antwerp, Leuven and Ghent against nationalism and against the division of Belgium. I suggest you read the article by David who was involved ( http://belgium4ever.wordpress.com/2011/02/18/retour-sur-la-frietrevolutie-revolution-des-frites.html ) and see pictures taken by Cristina ( http://alzira.canalblog.com/archives/2011/02/17/index.html ).

Here the reaction of Michael Verbauwhede, president of the Federation of Francophone Students (FSF): "We are launching today a signal to the world of politics. If things do not change, we will continue to mobilize. Our message is not to say we want a government at any price. But to say that it is possible to solve our problems together. There is a real ras-le-bol and anxiety among students. This is not the first time that students take an initiative in the first semester, students from the KUL and UCL staged a battle of cushions, eg we see more and more tips students involved, it was natural for us to participate. Take the numerus clausus in medicine, nothing is settled on this issue. Another example : Refinance education is currently impossible. We do not understand this desire of division. As long as we remain in this logic, nothing is resolved. Everything is done to divide us. For example, national media is no more. We note with VSL (the equivalent of the FEF in Flanders) we encounter the same problems. We also come together to find solutions. We thought with the president of the VVS to hold a joint meeting. Federal elections of 2007, we presented a joint memorandum. Why not a merger of the FEF and the VSL? However, it is true that communitise education is not so simple, but I am not opposed to a structural approximation.

Note that unions of magistrates (both north and south of the country) voted this week against regionalization of justice. Why not we would listen to the opinion of those people who work in the field?

Black Stoolapple Cider Vinegar

pro-Belgian February 17

In November, students from the ULB, VUB and Ghent University had organized a number of symbolic actions (such as cushions battles between French and Dutch) in Brussels, Ghent and Antwerp. January 21, KVS Brussels sold out for the evening organized by the cultural cons Flemish nationalism. Two days later, the event Shame launched by students of the VUB 35,000 Belgians gathered in the streets of Brussels to show their ras-le-bol not to have government more than 200 days after the election.

The organizers of all these citizen actions were agreed to join in a platform "Not in our name / Niet in eleven naam" opposing nationalism and the division of Belgium. In the negotiations of the forthcoming reform of the state, they defend three claims: the introduction of a national constituency, the defense of a national social security and Brussels as a laboratory for future society.

17 February, during a day of awareness humorously titled "Revolution of chips: the division, we tired "( http://frietrevolution.blogspot.com/ ), students have planned advocacy in Brussels, Antwerp, Louvain-la-Neuve, Ghent, Leuven, Liège and Namur. The day evening will end with a dj in the center of Antwerp. Why February 17? For Belgium beat that day the world record for the number of days needed to form a government ... a record held until now by Iraq!

Dear bloggers, you can participate in the civic movement and support these youth by the displays of their work on your blog and / or Facebook on February 17. Thanks in advance.
