The Myth Actresses Name

More Step toward individuation

The process of psychological development of man leads us along the paths of individuation . The word individuation, unknown to most, is rarely used. Most often it coincides with individualism and selfishness echoes ...

Jung describes throughout his work the various steps necessary to become "self". One of the first is the withdrawal of emotions. As he indicates in his book Energies of the soul " is retired from the emotions are no longer one with them. When we managed to remember oneself, to differentiate between self themselves and this outburst of passion, one discovers the Self : you start to individuate ". It specifies "Individuation is not to become an ego - it would be an individualist. And what is an individualist, but a man who failed his individuation ".

He continued " individuate is to become this thing that is not me - what is very strange. Consequently, no one understands what the Self, since Self is just what we are not - which is not me. The ego is revealed as a mere appendage of the Self with which he has only a very loose ".

Differentiate emotions, interact with this great unknown that is the Self, it finally agree to commit themselves on paths unknown. At this level there are few maps, no GPS ... We need to show a lot of humility and diminish the intensity of the consciousness to perceive the sounds of the soul.

Answer to Job

Sometimes we are forced to accept a job "dictated from within." Usually we try to avoid it, but sometimes you find yourself up against the wall and it is impossible to evade.

is what happened to Jung, in his life many times. It in these circumstances and under very strong pressure was born his book Answer to Job . This sentence "I was possessed by the urgency and significance of the difficult problem and I could not get away" attests.

This book, the subject of much controversy, has been a resounding success in the United States. In France it went almost unnoticed. ...

"My book does not want to be anything other than the interrogative voice of one man, who relies on reflection and meditation of his readers" says Jung. "It is the strength of both large and vulnerable book, the strength of man alone in head to head with the Bible" added Henry Corbin, a researcher in religious studies as it is defined, who met Jung many times during the sessions of Eranos circle in Ascona, Switzerland .

This book sheds light on Jung's confrontation with the deity. Job, the just man, who was the subject of many curses, gives him an opportunity to address how Yahweh, the God of the Old Testament is full of contradictions: "The reflection and knowledge resident in him side of thoughtlessness and ignorance of self, a resident near the goodness of cruelty, and the creative force alongside the will to destroy ".

voice Jung expresses" the emotion aroused by the spectacle - nothing blur - the divine savagery and immorality of his criminal ". Origins of Christianity we are far from God's image, unilateral right, as it is presented to us since more than 2000 years.

whole experience of man Jung reveals that he has ceased to demonstrate how religious issues were present in every man. Thus, a vision of a God full of contradictions through duality Christ / Antichrist, he shows us how man is necessary to God and how God wants to incarnate in us. Under a more technical name ... is the way of individuation.

Reading this book can not leave us indifferent.

Autobiography / Biography of CG Jung

His book, My life, memories, dreams and thoughts Jung traces the path throughout his life. Partly written by him, partly by his collaborator Aniela Jaffé, this book allows us to measure how Jung's life has not been "smooth sailing".

Several authors have written biographies, one of the largest I quote:

Marie Louise von Franz: CG Jung, his myth in our time
Barbara Hannah: Jung, his life and his work
Gerhard Wehr: Carl Gustav Jung, his life, his work, his influence
Vincent Brome: Carl Gustav Jung, the man and the myth

I remember mainly that of Marie Louise von Franz and Barbara Hannah that provide valuable additions to the autobiography "official .

This was the subject of much criticism, some of the evidence gathered by Aniela Jaffé not included in this book. Besides

Atlantic Deirdre Bair wrote in November 2003 a thick biography under the title Jung biography . His book, not translated in French to date, has been the subject of much controversy, especially from the descendants of CG Jung, who saw a very dim view of this publication.

The external facts, little presence in the autobiography, are widely discussed in the book by Barbara Hannah, and even more detailed in those by Gerhard Wehr, Vincent Brome and Deirdre Bair.

Reading these books brings us into contact with Jung close to nature, steeped in shadows and contradictions, more human.

It is on this basis that his work was born.

The other within us

Which leaves you one place to another in us?
This other that we like this one that appears throughout the process of individuation.

Careful examination of the fantasies, facts that mark everyday life, dreams, ... we gradually put in contact with someone more complex, more complete. Items that were originally relegated in the shadow are gradually integrated. Through dialogue with the anima or animus and new figures appear. Finally a new being is born, both very different from what we thought and finally close.

Marie Louise von Franz insists that we protect this fragile: "To achieve our goals, we continually assassinate, in ourselves, that being humble respects to the secret of the soul, which keeps the open mind on the divine. "

She added: "I think the greatest merit of Jung and his work was to teach us to leave the door open to the unknown visitor. He also tried to teach us to live in a provision that we avoids the wrath of the visitor, his anger, which falls on the host surface, proud and greedy folk tales. "

It ends with these words: "That came from the gods spread the blessing or affliction not only depends on ourselves."

This entry of the gods in our lives is you it not the most valuable?

The zeitgeist

"Today, when a neurotic patient undertakes analysis, it suffers very often only partially personal problems, many, especially young people, are those who come to us simply because they suffer the absurdity and the despair of our contemporary situation. Currently, a melancholy or a kind of collective sluggishness, general malaise, similar to the time of the Empire Roman decadent invade entire groups. " (1)

No, the comments above have not been held in 2007, but 30 years ago by Marie Louise von Franz during a lecture at the University of Graz (Austria).

We are all imbued with the spirit of the times, we can not escape it. Only the comparison over long periods of history allows us to take some distance from the present.

Prolonged contact with material from the unconscious gives us a unique opportunity to measure the intensity and depth of elements that animate the psyche, both individually and collectively.

It is urgent for the individual but also for the community, to its rightful place in all phenomena falling apart or ignored because of the psyche.

The shadow we

in our lives when things are not right, we have no alternative but to turn to our World inside. At this stage we find elements quickly rejected, despised, usually personified in the guise of our greatest enemies.

Shade, like most psychic contents can not be recognized in sifting through all of our relationships, in particular by analyzing the powerful negative emotions that bind us to any particular person.

Collectively we are witnessing a surge in the shadows, whether in politics or the expression in the various conflicts that plague our planet.

recognition of our shadow changes our relationship to the outside world.

From there it is difficult to accuse the other of all evil!
